Back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk Contest champ Zach Lavine and the Orlando Magic's promising young forward (and their fourth pick in the 2014 Draft) Aaron Gordon had an amazing, amazing duel at All-Star Saturday. They peppered the evening with rim-rattlers we've either never seen before or never seen done this breathtakingly before.

Just nasty. So nasty that it eventually prompted that night's most important discussion: Was it better than Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins' unforgettable duel back in 1988? As these GIFs will remind you, MJ vs. 'Nique wasn't a slouch either:

So how about we let you decide? It's hard to beat the nostalgia we feel for the old-time icons, but objectively, the youngins performed dunks that would've been athletically impossible to do back in the '80s.
