Lace up, runners! Registration for adidas Philippines’ King Of The Road (KOTR) 2013 is now open, with the grand annual run of the three-striped brand happening on July 7 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

These days, there’s a run happening every week. But KOTR is a few ways more special as it’s one of the biggest races in Southeast Asia—that you just might get crowned and called as “King of the Road” sounds pretty sweet, too.

This year, there are multiple races to choose from: the 16.8K Closed, the 16.8K Open, the 10K Student Relay Race, and the regular 10K race.

Exclusive to Filipinos, the 16.8K Closed category is the most intriguing by far as the top male and top female runner will be crowned King and Queen of the Road. It’s like prom all over again, minus all the dancing. The pair will then go on to represent the country in the KOTR Southeast Asian Championship in Malaysia later this year, where they will put their crown to the test against the best of Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

The winner of the grand regionals will then be named adidas Southeast Asia King and Queen of the Road, amongst other prizes and recognitions. First held in the Philippines in 2011, and then in Singapore the following year, the Southeast Asian KOTR championship has provided fuel for the country’s running royalty to win pride for the country.

As for the other races stated, there are prizes for the top finishers as well. Everyone who crosses the finish line at least gets one of these:

The 16.8K Open is open to all nationalities. The 10K Student Relay Race is for college and university students 25 years and younger—in this race, participants must form a relay team, each running a 5 KM leg. Last but not the least is the regular 10K race, which is open for those simply looking to participate in the adidas race.
