After a whirlwind off-season, which saw the team saying goodbye to (Derrick Rose) and welcoming (Dwyane Wade) hometown kids, the Chicago Bulls were eager to end their summer on a high note.

And what better way to achieve that goal than winning the 2016 NBA Summer League championship in Las Vegas, courtesy of some clutch play from the team's No. 14 pick, Michigan State's Denzel Valentine. The Bulls captured the crown at the expense of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were led by Summer League Most Valuable Player Tyus Jones.


Before the biggest shot of the game though, Valentine hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to extend the game into overtime, answering Jones' own long bomb on the other end of the floor.

Unfortunately for the Wolves, it was all déjà vu for Valentine in the waning seconds of the extra period.

And here's one more reason why those shots are extra special: Valentine hit his first field goal in the fourth quarter, finishing with a forgettable seven points on 3-of-10 shooting. He also had eight rebounds, three assists, and a couple of steals for the night.
