So one of the world’s most popular football players, Cristiano Ronaldo was just honored in his hometown in Portugal for all his achievements in the world of sports.

Apparently, he was so good that Portugal’s president and the prime minister flew all the way to the island to personally rename an airport after Ronaldo and unveil a bust of the football superstar outside the terminal entrance.

There’s just one problem though.

The statue that’s supposed to look like the man who is touted to be at the same level of some of the most handsome celebrities, the likes of Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, and Tom Cruise doesn’t look one tiny bit like him.

Instead, it looks eerily similar to NBA player Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks which makes us think: perhaps the sculptor was more of a basketball guy?

For reference here’s how fresh Ronaldo looks like:

Naturally, netizens roasted the poorly made statue. Here are some of their most hilarious reactions:

Ronaldo definitely got it bad this time but at least the dude still wins in life despite the epic fail statue they made him.
