Another sporting legend hangs up his boots for good: David Beckham has announced his intention to officially leave the game of football at season's end. Sad news, considering Beckham's the only name that registered in our limited football vocabulary back when Euro football was still relatively unknown in the Philippines. You know, way before the Messis, Ronaldos, and Rooneys.

Having played at a high level of football for over two decades, Beckham is the only British footballer in history to win titles in four different countries. "If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over a hundred times, and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was fantasy," says David. "I'm fortunate to have realized those dreams."

At this point, everyone's gonna wanna cite how he is one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport, but that's not our style. As we bid Becks adios, we look back at how David Beckham changed the world and made everything he touched, uhm, extra fashionable.
