The Air Canada Centre went wild when Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry made a half-court buzzer-beater to force the game into overtime against the Miami Heat in Game 1 of their NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals playoff series.
With 3.1 seconds remaining, Lowry got the inbound pass and dribbled to the half-court line where he heaved the ball into their basket. The shot went in, the crowd went bonkers, and the game went to overtime with the scored tied 90-all.
It was no doubt an incredible shot but Dwyane Wade would later spoil the night for the Toronto faithful as he scored seven of Miami’s 12 points in the extra period. Two of those points were from a layup during the final seconds which finally broke the back of the Raptors.
Wade's dagger steal and and-one play ended the count at 102-96, and gave the Heat a 1-o lead in the series.
Game 2 is on Friday (Manila time).
