There’s been all sorts of problems plaguing NBA jerseys all season long, with the main issue being that it gets torn quite easily as we’ve seen in multiple occasions.
Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was the latest victim of these issues, but instead of getting a torn jersey, it actually had his last name misspelled. This is kind of ridiculous since we’re talking about Dirk here. We get that he has a German surname and all, but when you’re talking about someone like Dirk, who has played for 20 seasons and won a title along the way, we kind of expect everyone—or at the very least the guy in charge of the jerseys—to actually know how to spell his last name, right? Not really.
Unfortunately, it had to happen during Dirk’s big night as he became just the sixth player in NBA history to eclipse the 50,000-minute milestone.
Well, at least LeBron James was quick to congratulate Nowitkzi, err... Nowitzki.
Dirk for his part just laughed it off while throwing subtle shade at his team.
Meanwhile, fans also poked fun at Dirk’s misspelled jersey while celebrating his minutes milestone.
Got to spell it right to make it count, bruh
