Good news, basketball aficionados who are craving for some pro-ball development!
The Philippine national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, which will represent the country in this year's FIBA Asia Championship, is reportedly starting to take shape after photos of an exclusive practice surfaced recently.
Our bros from Spin.ph were among those who got an insider's look at the unofficial national team pool, whose members were tabbed by new Gilas coach Tab Baldwin (see what we did there?), who took over the reins from the team's last bench tactician, Chot Reyes.
Present at the session were holdovers from last year's World Cup team, Gary David, Jayson Castro, and Ranidel Ocampo; another Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters rep in Matt Ganuelas-Rosser; a couple of new faces in Globalport Batang Pier's Terrence Romeo and Barako Bull Energy's JC Intal; national team returnees Dondon Hontiveros and Sonny Thoss of the Alaska Aces and the NLEX Road Warriors' Asi Taulava (now 43 years old); and the only non-PBA cager, former National University stalwart, Troy Rosario.

Coaches Alex Compton (Alaska), Norman Black (Meralco), Jong Uichico (TNT), assistant coach Nash Racela, and former Gilas captain Jimmy Alapag, who is now an assistant coach, were also seen assisting Baldwin with the drills.
However, you might want to hold your horses; there is still no official Gilas pool lineup according to officials of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, and that the announcement will not be made until Monday August 3).
So how do you like the new Gilas squad?
