The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel didn't give the San Miguel Beermen a chance at a tiebreaker, as the back-to-back PBA Governors' Cup champions finished off their stubborn sister team in six games, 93-77, to clinch their third title in three years.

Ginebra was actually down 38-35 in halftime, before Best Import Justin Brownlee (31 pts 19 reb) and eventual Finals MVP Scottie Thompson (12 pts 13 reb) led a furious 21-4 third quarter rally to pull away from San Miguel, much to the delight of a packed (20,490) MOA Arena.

According to, this was the Barangay's first Commissioner's Cup championship since 1997, and third overall for their resident Gov Cup reinforcement Brownlee (3-0).
