The Tokyo Olympics won’t happen until three years, but we’re already pretty sure that the Land of the Rising Sun will be doing a superb job based on their chosen ambassadors for the world’s top sports event.

In a video teaser, it was shown that no less than popular Japanese anime characters like Son Goku (Dragon Ball Z), Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) and Uzumaki Naruto will be headlining the Olympics.

Other anime ambassadors include Sailor Moon, Astro Boy, Cure Miracle and Cure Magical from Maho Girls PreCure, Jibanyan from Yo-Kai Watch and the notorious Shin-chan.

Well okay, we’re not really sure about Shin Chan being chosen as an ambassador. Just look at how naughty this kid is.

Anyways, at least there’s always a moral lesson to be learned from Shin Chan’s misadventures.

Meanwhile, Nextshark reports that the organizers chose the anime icons as their ambassadors so they could promote Japan’s unique culture to the international youth community.

Merchandise for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which will be held from July 24 to August 9 and August 25 to September 6 are available here.
