It was much more intense than any of us could have anticipated. The UFC 139 Sunday fight between Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua kept viewers at their toes, their hearts racing with fear and excitement, and hands slow-clapping out of respect and appreciation for a match that could unanimously come down as 2011's Fight of the Year.

The details that surrounded the bout are too damn many to mention: Hendo clipping Shogun early in the first, a close call TKO finish in the third round, a bloodied Rua regaining momentum by the fourth, and eclipsing an exhausted and tired Henderson come the fifth. It could have easily been a draw, but Henderson scored the unanimous decision victory, 48-47.

In line with this historical event, we analyze the factors that could very well make the Shogun-Henderson match-up as Fight of the Year. Seriously, this is one for the books!
