We might have an answer for why Kiefer Ravena was a no-show in front of his kababayans on Sunday's PBA All-Star Game in Iloilo City.

Following initial reports of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas recalling the Rookie of the Year frontrunner to Manila, it was revealed that he missed the exhibition match due to a failed random drug test after Gilas Pilipinas' FIBA World Cup qualifier, multiple sources told SPIN.ph.

Ravena allegedly "tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug" after their February 22 loss to the Australia Boomers in Melbourne, and is currently facing suspension from international play. The SBP was reported to have requested a second test, whose similar result just recently came out.

Being a pro puts a basketball player under a lot of scrutiny, all the more so if you are sports royalty like Kiefer. He is, however, no stranger to controversy. With what might be his ugliest scandal to date, FHM looks back on both the good and the bad of the Phenom's professional and personal journey.

HIGH: UAAP, first two years

Ravena's decision to stay with his alma mater proved fruitful, as he was good and lucky enough to experience at least the tail end of Ateneo's five-peat during the 2010s. The ROY winner had a breakout sophomore campaign, including a FilOil championship and Most Valuable Player trophy.

LOW: UAAP, last three years

Unfortunately, his best collegiate years went for naught, with other universities getting stacked and capturing the title. Ravena would go on to win back-to-back MVP awards, after the Blue Eagles didn't make the Final Four in Season 76, when he missed a few games due to injury, but that was it.

HIGH: NBA D-League, Texas Legends

While there was no proof that he actually suited up for the Dallas Mavericks' affiliate, Ravena training with bigger, stronger prospects as a developmental player still counts as a win. He had a chance to play in the NBA Summer League for the Mavs like Ray Parks, which is still possible.

LOW: Mika Reyes, breakup

Ravena is now happily in love with fellow Phenom Alyssa Valdez, but there was a time when his relationship with another stunning volleybelle didn't work out. In 2015, the sports couple confirmed their split without any clear explanation, although Kiefer quickly squashed rumors of a third party.

HIGH: Gilas Pilipinas, Southeast Asian Games

To say he has ruled over the biennial multi-sport event would be an understatement. Following his latest medal in Kuala Lumpur, Ravena became the first Pinoy basketball player to win a record fourth-straight gold in the tournament (2011 Jakarta, 2013 Naypyidaw, 2015 Singapore).

LOW: That infamous pic

Earlier last year, Ravena found himself in the middle of a "sexting" scandal, where he allegedly sent a photo of his privates to an unidentified person on Viber. This wasn't the first time he was embroiled in a sticky mess, and he apologized to all the people involved, including his girlfriend Alyssa.

HIGH: PBA, No. 2 pick, playoff run

The FHM March Hero's entry to the pros was an eventful one, as the second overall pick of the 2017 PBA draft. In his first conference with the NLEX Road Warriors, he led the team (15.7 ppg 5.3 apg) to an impressive semifinal finish.
