This is the last season we'll see the man known as the Black Mamba show off his skills on the hardcourt, capping off what has been a stellar 20-season tour of duty in the league. (That is, unless, he does an MJ and gets "unretired," we all know how those two are similar to each other in playing ball...)
The NBA won't be the same without Kobe—this is something both fans and haters will agree on. We really can't blame him though. We know he's willing, but there comes a time when our bodies just can't take it anymore (have you read his feels-filled Dear Basketball letter?).
As for us here in FHM HQ, we'll always remember KB24 as one of the greatest of all time, the ever consummate competitor who'll show you who's The Boss on the hardcourt, like he did in the instances below.
DWIGHT GETS BAPTIZED
Kobe doesn't care if you're a 6'11" athletic freak. He'll dunk on you like you're nobody. He ain't choosy.
THAT EPIC RAY ALLEN STOPPAGE
Once upon a time, Allen can get up there (see: 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest). Then he evolved into a premiere three-point shooter (one of the best the league has ever seen). We wonder why.
CLIMBING THE GREAT WALL
We love Yao Ming (have you seen a 7'5" big man with his skillset?). But we love this posterization even more.
GET OUT OF THE WAY, STEVE!
Too bad he didn't listen. Seriously, charge or not (yes, this is still being debated on online), this one's nasty!
THERE GOES THAT AFRO
That poor soul who Kobe dunked on? That's Ben Wallace. Damn.
KOBE'S 81-POINT EXPLOSION
AKA 81 ways of saying "This is my arena so kneel before me or GTFO!"
And on this day, Matt Barnes learned that Kobe is actually a hoops-playing robot that doesn't flinch.
The gold medal game between the USA and Spain in the 2008 Beijing Olympics is proof that Kobe's clutch-ness isn't limited to the NBA.
NICE TRY, BRO
We'd like to commend Deron Williams for having the guts to challenge Kobe on the break. That takes balls.
LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN
A young Kobe on the fastbreak is like a horny bro who's about to see his girl for the first time in months: unstoppable.
Oh, what we'd give to see Kobe do these one last time...
