Newly retired Kobe Bryant might not have accepted Charles Barkley's Inside the NBA invitation, but apparently, the basketball great has been busy with another TV project.

Kobe recently teamed up with ESPN to produce the six-part documentary series Canvas, which will delve into various on-court topics. The first of which is "how to defend the NBA's best players" in the aptly titled episode, Guarding the Greats.

Known for his relentlessness on boths ends of the floor, Kobe not only lent his voice and credibility to the project, but also got those creative juices flowing as its writer and director. Looks like the break did him some good in terms of artistic vision.

Going back to Guarding the Greats, the Black Mamba may have drawn inspiration from the retro era, judging from the short film's vintage execution. Content-wise, he basically dissects a superstar in figuring out ways to stop him, in an informal yet informative manner.
