After a seemingly lackadaisical practice earlier today, the Black Mamba lashed out at his teammates, calling them “soft as charming.” Here’s Mike Breshahan of the Los Angeles Times with the crispy details:
Kobe extremely unhappy on the practice court. "Now I see why we've lost so many games. We're soft like Charmin!"— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 11, 2014
Here's the video of the outburst, courtesy of Arash Markaszi of ESPN:
Nick "Swaggy P" Young taunting Kobe obviously didn't help.
Swaggy P to Kobe: "Nobody in the world can guard me on-on-one." #Weh
We guess this might serve as the catalyst for whatever wheeling and dealing the Lakers organization will do in the next few days/weeks/months. Or maybe they won't; maybe the Lakers' General Manager, Mitch Kupchak, wants to hear more nice words from Kobe.
Kobe yelled to Kupchak while leaving practice court: "These (expletives) aren't doing (expletive) for me." Didn't think team practiced hard.— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 11, 2014
Man, we haven't seen Kobe this angry in a while.
Is this really the end for the Lakers? Are we witnessing the total collapse of a decorated NBA franchise? Don't worry Lakers loyalists, Kobe was quick to dismiss any bad blood brewing between him and his teammates.
Kobe: “I just challenge guys, see what happens. I’ve always believed in throwing them in the pool and then seeing if they can sink or swim.”— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 11, 2014
There's a reason for his aggressive behavior, says No. 24.
And don't worry about the Mamba and Swaggy P, too. They're alright.
Kobe laughed when asked about Nick Young: "I think Nick probably regrets getting me started in practice and saying something."— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 11, 2014Continue reading below ↓
And what about Young's "nobody can guard me one-on-one" dig?
Kobe on Nick Young's proclomation that nobody in this world can guard him one-on-one: "Thank god I’m not from this world."— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) December 11, 2014
