C'mon, admit it: You thought Manny Pacquiao being a PBA player is nothing but a big joke. You thought he'll just be making turnovers one after the other. You thought his PBA stint is just another way to fatten up his ever-growing resume. And, most importantly, you thought that there's no chance in hell he'll ever score a point.
Well, think again.
In the highly-physical game between the Purefoods Star Hotshots and the Kia Carnival, the boxer-politician-endorser-singer finally scored his first-ever point in the PBA. He sank the second of two free throws (he clanged the first one) after being fouled by Allein Maliksi at the 11:24 mark of the second quarter. Yes, what many of you thought as preposterous or even impossible has finally happened.
When asked by Rizza Diaz what he felt about scoring his first point, our Pambansang Kamao simply said "Okay lang naman," oozing with silent confidence because, perhaps, he thinks he will do it again. We're not going to bet against him, and neither should you. Because if there's one man who thrives in the challenges posed by (literally) bigger rivals (hello, Margarito and co.!), it's the Pac-Man.
We're looking forward to your first official field goal, coach!
And, get this, KIA WON THE GAME, 95-84! #LibreKaNamanCoach!
