The Summer League Is Becoming More Exciting Than The NBA Finals
Las Vegas is loco for Lonzo

While the Golden State Warriors becoming NBA champions was rather unexciting, the same cannot be said about this offseason.

From players jettisoning teams—or vice versa—to superstars getting rewarded (trophy, money), the past few weeks have been more exciting than the entire 2017 playoffs. Even the ongoing Summer League, now on its Las Vegas leg, has been one of the better viewing options during the basketball sabbatical.

The recent draft proved that it isn't all hype as the rookies looked more NBA-ready than some of the players in the league.

No. 5 pick De'Aaron Fox immediately changed the culture of the Sacramento Kings with his all-around play—18 points, five steals, four assists, three rebounds, and one block.

The Dallas Mavericks may have found its point guard of the future in Dennis Smith, Jr. (9), who stuffed the stat sheet: 25 points, eight rebounds, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Buried in those stellar performances was Josh Jackson (4) of the Phoenix Suns averaging a solid 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds.

After a dismal debut (five points on 1-of-11 three-point shooting), Lonzo Ball (2) bounced back in a big way for the Los Angeles Lakers with a lucky triple-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Too bad it wasn't enough to overcome Jayson Tatum (3), whose 27 points and 11 rebounds led the Boston Celtics to a 86-81 victory.
