With the Philippines almost nabbing victory, fans still haven't gotten over last night's nail-biter of a game between Gilas Pilipinas and China at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.

A game-high 28 points from NBA guard Jordan Clarkson, who played his first game for the Philippine men's national basketball team, and key contributions from Christian Standhardinger (18 pts 8 reb) and Stanley Pringle (14 pts) weren't enough to get the Pinoys over the hump, 82-80. This means that Gilas will have a more difficult road to a medal finish, starting with a game against bitter rival Korea in the knockout rounds.

Despite the painful loss, members of the hastily formed Gilastopainters are holding their heads up high after a noble performance. Both PH team veterans and newcomers assured fans that they will bounce back mightily next time around.
