Solaire Resort and Casino, a big-time venue for first-class entertainment, is set to host Pinoy Pride XXI: When Worlds Collide on July 13. See up-and-coming Filipino boxers slug it out with top-notch foreign competition! It's "The Philippines vs. the World" tagline all over again, a patriotic twist that should make the festivities a lot more interesting for both fighters and spectators.
A total of eight matches across several weight divisions including a world title bout is up to give you a huge dose of hard-hitting boxing. The local gladiators who'll fight for the country's pride include AJ "Bazooka" Banal, OPBF superflyweight champ Arthur Villanueva, as well as WBO Minimumweight champion Merlito Sabillo in his first title defense.
Another local boxer you should watch for is Albert Pagara, an undefeated prospect who's aiming for the 17th W of his young pro career.
The first bout will start as early as six in the evening on Saturday, which means you'll have a night filled with glove-mashing, palitan ng mukha action. And, as a way to tell you "Taralets, dudes!," we've come up with short previews of the four fights on the main card. Check 'em out below.
