This is a painful reminder to Draymond Green to "be careful what you wish for."
Fans are aware that the tension stemmed from this year's NBA Finals, but reports claim that Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers got into a fight with the Golden State Warriors forward at a club in Los Angeles.
Rumors of a heated confrontation between the two players surfaced a couple of weeks ago, but was only recently clarified by Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead:
Apparently, Green and Thompson were both present at LeBron James' private party. In a report by The Athletic, "None of the attendees expected the on-the-court drama to flare back up in this setting. Which is why everyone was stunned when Thompson, according to sources, out of nowhere attacked Green."
You might recall that the two got into it at the end of Game 1 of their title series, which saw Thompson shoving the ball in Green's face. The former was ejected, while the latter said in a post-game interview, "I can meet him (Thompson) in the streets any day." The bickering spilled into the Warriors' championship parade, where Green threw shade at Thompson: "He tried to shake my hand (after Game 4), I said 'Tristan, we ain't cut the same.'"
Despite the sucker punch, "Everything between Draymond Green and Tristan Thompson was quashed by night's end." Still, basketball fans and non-fans freaked out over the newest episiode of the off-court drama, and proved that in the end, the internet always wins.
Phones were said to be prohibited at "ultra-exclusive affair," but that didn't prevent netizens from "leaking" footage of the ugly incident.
