A few days ago, we released a story about penis sizes, which men believe to be a very, very important factor for success in the game of life.

But as How I Met Your Mother's Barney Stinson (a true FHM hero) has proven time and time again, there are some things more important than that. Namely: suits and the amount of money you have to buy suits with. True story, brah.

And just how much money does our suit-connoisseur make in a year? That data has been a big mystery ever since the show started. And even as the show ended and we all found out who The Mother was, none of us had a clue how much money Barney actually makes. We just know it to be a lot.

"Cheers to me!"

That all changed yesterday as Reddittor user, Sir Zeph, has hammered out a formula to compute Barney's yearly earnings, using clues found at various episodes. He explains the number-cracking below:

"In Unpause (S09E15), it is revealed that Barney spends 1 Crapload on suits a year and he makes 16 Crapload a year. Barney also says that Robin's family's wealth amounts to 6,000 Canadien Craploads.

In Vesuvirus (S09E19), Barney shows Ted two rooms full of suits. From what is shown, there are 7 racks of 15 suits in one room. Assuming the second room also has 7 racks of 15 suits, Barney owns 210 (2(7*15)) suits.

In Game Night (S01E15), it was stated that Barney has been wearing suits since 1998, which translates to a period of 15 years up to the point of his wedding. Hence it can be concluded that Barney purchases 14 suits a year on average.

In Cupcake (S01E16), Barney takes Marshall to his tailor to get him a suit which was $4,000 (which Marshall finds out later on). From this we can calculate that Barney spends $56,000 (14*4000) on suits a year approximately."

With these variables figured out, Sir Zeph does the math:

Barney's Yearly Income:
210 + 60 + 1 + 2 + 2= 275 suits (total owned)

275 (suits) /15 (years) = 18.333 suits/year

$4000 (cost of each suit) * 18.333 (number of suits he buys per year) = $73,332/year (the "crapload" he spends on suits per year)

$73,332 * 16 (the number of "crapload" he makes a year) = $1,173,312

Barney makes $1,173,312 a year.

Holy mother of Ted!

That's a lot of crapload—definitely more crapload than most of us would earn in our lifetime! What do we glean from this? Barney has certainly stepped up a notch in our FHM Hero rankingsand that suiting up just might be the missing ingredient to a million-dollar career indeed.

See, gents, it pays (and its expensive) to have style!
