One could talk about music and how beautiful it could be in the right hands, but how much do we really know about it? National Geographic’s My Music Brain attempts to go deeper than what Jingle magazine could ever teach us about it.

Through the most cutting-edge experiments performed by top neuroscientists, and with the help of advanced equipment that electronica artists could only wish to have, the show provides a glimpse to the mind of a master musician: the original Englishman in New York, Sting. Along with him for the ride are other top musical talents including Canadian singers Michael Buble and Feist, and renowned producer, Wyclef Jean.

The spritely collection of talents that the show has assembled have been consciously chosen in terms of their varying musical styles, to give us a more complete picture of what music really means to us and to our society. Ultimately, My Music Brain’s intimate voyage to the grooves of a musician’s cerebellum hopes to reveal how the brain shapes the distinctly human experience of listening to a cacophony of beats and a symphony of melodies—or that which we simply know as music. - Gelo Gonzales
