Yes, WWE Summerslam has just ended, so you better watch it before you read this unless you’re okay with spoilers like we are. If you’re still reading this, let’s talk about Ronda Rousey's RAW Women's Championship bout.
Ronda debuted on the WWE last January after everything was said and done at this year’s Royal Rumble. It was clear that she already had her eyes on a women’s championship. However, it was unclear in the beginning whether she was going for the SmackDown Live or RAW women’s title. But after bringing the house down at WrestleMania, defeating the power couple of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon alongside RAW General Manager, Kurt Angle, she was poised and ready for a single’s run.
Of course, from the get-go, her storyline was always that of a rookie who couldn’t tell the difference between the UFC and WWE. And RAW Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss, made it clear that Ronda wasn’t good enough to compete on this stage. This, of course, after Alexa cashed in her Money In The Bank contract and stole Ronda's opportunity to become champion. This infuriated Ronda, who decided to attack Alexa on the next episode of RAW, which in turn got her suspended.
Of course, if she’s going to be called "The Baddest Woman On The Planet," she has to break a few eggs to get herself a nice golden championship-shaped
Of course, she didn't wrestle right away because WWE was keeping her from doing so on a weekly basis. But she did accompany her best friend Natalya during matches. But things got out of hand when Alicia Fox won against Natalya with some help from Little Miss Bliss. This time around, the numbers game became too much for Ronda to handle.
She then had a match against Alicia Fox in an attempt to get revenge. Alexa, again, was ringside to help distract Ronda from the match. This plan failed miserably—Ronda unleashed her fury on Alicia, breaking her arm in the process.
The week before Summerslam, Ronda called out Alexa and lured her out of the backstage area. But Alexa had other things in mind: she brought out her private security to prevent an attack from Ronda Rousey. This backfired.
And today's big news: Ronda Rousey went one-on-one with RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss for the title. And we all know how that went down:
