Donald Glover's recent Saturday Night Live hosting stint not only saw the release of his latest music video for This Is America, but also spawned a hilarious sketch about one of the NBA teams in the ongoing playoffs.
The man also know as Childish Gambino must've watched his fair share of postseason basketball, and witnessed how LeBron James basically carried the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Indiana Pacers in the first round. As a tribute to The King's supporting cast (or the lack of it), Glover collaborated with the comedy show to produce the basketball hype parody titled, "The Other Cavaliers."
Funny and sad at the same time, the skit pokes fun at "The Other Cavaliers" and how they provide LeBron assistance, "as long as what he needs isn't basketball." That includes sweeping up his chalk, running "hot potato" offense, and holding his third and fourth cellphone. Heck, the Cavs even got a Roomba and a golden retriever for starters!
Unfortunately, the sketch didn't actually air and was cut for time on SNL, but still made its way online. Ironically, LeBron is getting more help from his oft-criticized teammates in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Toronto Raptors, despite his recent game-winner. Kevin Love seemed to have regained his All-Star form, while Jeff Green, Kyle Korver, and George Hill have been more consistent as role players.
