Do you believe in aliens? NASA has just recently announced that their Curiosity Rover has picked up organic matter from Mars' soil. While this does not conclusively prove sentient life in outer space, it does bring us closer to the possibility that we are not alone in the universe.

Star Trek: Discovery
What better way to begin this list than to boldly go where no man has gone before? Star Trek: Discovery is an action-packed, lens-flaring, futuristic space adventure that does the original franchise proud. It is set 10 years before Star Trek: The Original Series, during the war between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets. The series brings a new perspective, while still maintaining the familiar overarching themes of the Star Trek universe we love.
No other sci-fi thriller currently on TV can compare to the beauty and intensity of Sense8. The series follows eight strangers all around the globe as they are mysteriously connected by what is first a vision, then an ability to connect to each other’s thoughts. In their journey to pursuing answers as to why, they are hunted by an organization, intent on destroying them. The series is further carried by its beautiful soundtrack, wonderful cinematography, and incredibly well-written three-dimensional characters.
Black Mirror, one of the most popular and successful shows on TV right now, is fondly dubbed as a modern Twilight Zone. Each episode differs in setting and premise, which are all sure to leave you with many chilling afterthoughts regarding science, technology, and the fate of our humanity. All four seasons are available on Netflix for you to binge on. Be on the lookout for real-world easter eggs in each episode that will leave you haunted, but definitely wanting more.
Complete with futuristic neon cityscapes and surreal urban cinematography, Altered Carbon takes place in a distant future where human consciousness can be digitized and downloaded into a different body. For the few that can afford it, they can even manipulate how they look and how long they’ll live. If that doesn’t sound interesting enough, the show revolves around solving the murder of a billionaire by an ex-convoy soldier looking to live again in an unrecognizable world.
Originally shown on Syfy, 12 Monkeys is one of the more successful film-to-TV adaptations from the original 1995 film. The story follows a survivor from a post-apocalyptic world who time-travels to our present day in order to track down a disease that will nearly wipe out the entirety of humanity.
Orphan Black is an extremely underrated TV show that deserves more recognition than it gets. The sci-fi thriller stars the incredibly talented Tatiana Maslany, as she discovers that she is just one of the many clones spread across the world that are being murdered one by one. The mysterious yet wild premise comes with a variety of twists and turns that are guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
It’s impossible to create a bing-able sci-fi Netflix list without Stranger Things. This show is one of Netflix's best. Set in the '80s, the story is about a boy who mysteriously disappears and the search made by his family, friends, and the entire town which leads to unraveling government secrets, supernatural beings, and lifelong friendships. Stranger Things serves a hefty serving of nostalgia, humor, and horror all in one plate.
