We have a huge confession to make: We’re thoroughly addicted to an anime show—which is something that hasn’t happened since Eugene of Ghost Fighter fame was still busting out energy beams from his finger.
The show is called Attack On Titan, an action series derived from a manga of the same name created by 27-year-old artist Hajime Isayama. The manga, which is called Shingeki No Kyojin in Japan, first appeared in the monthly manga magazine, Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, in September 2009.
Obviously, it was a gigantic success.
Since its debut, it went on to sell a gargantuan 20 million copies (as of June 2013) in Japan. In April 2013, the Attack On Titan anime finally debuted, and has also gone on to become one of the BIGGEST animes today.
And you can take “BIGGEST” quite literally: this anime is all about really, freaking large men whose sole purpose in life is to make snacks out of people, like this:
And they do it without their pants on! The horror!
If the thought of seeing people skitter away like ants from, well, ant-eaters that look like people doesn’t excite you, on the next page we’ve shared a few more reasons why the show is worth checking out, and why we’ve been raving over it during office lunch.
Now if only we could ray-gun these towering bastards to their deaths!
NEXT: They're not just tall bastards, they're fast and tall bastards!
