Contrary to what you see in those romantic, steamy hook-up scenes in the movies, women don’t always have a good time in between the sheets. There are several things that you might unconsciously do in the bedroom that can get her sexually turned off—and being aware of them is just as important as knowing how to please them in bed.

So in this edition of Real Talk, we asked nine women to share with us the most unsexy parts of sex that they want men to know. Here’s what they had to say:

“Not a fan of sweat. It makes sex so inconvenient because our skin will stick together when we’re trying to move. Plus, touching a sweaty person always feels icky. I’d vastly prefer a shower before any fooling around.” —Jenny, 27

“I don’t like dirty talk. It just kind of makes me laugh because it all sounds so utterly silly and that the guy is trying too hard. You can’t go wrong with the basics like compliments, telling her how badly you want her, or describing what you want to do.” —Honey, 30

“Keeping the socks on, when everything else is off, during sex. I don’t why, but that’s a pretty big turn-off.” —Angelica, 20

“Though they are necessary, I hate it when my partner wears a condom. They seem to dry my vagina out, which is pretty annoying. I also hate the smell—it reminds me of a hospital.” —Catherine, 25

“An aggressive and inexperienced tongue is never sexy. If you don’t know what you’re doing, then back off and let me take the lead.” —Kath, 23

“My boyfriend has braces so when I try to kiss him I always end up bumping into them sometimes. My tongue and lips often get cut. It sucks.” —Emma, 21

“The smell of alcohol on someone’s breath is disgusting. This is pretty obvious, but forgetting personal hygiene is totally not hot. If you don’t feel the need to brush your teeth, don’t be surprised when no one finds you attractive.” —Mica, 28

“Finding a completely shaved penis is not sexy. It’s like looking at my baby brother’s private area.” —Joana, 22

“I don’t really like it when my partner says anything related to the word ‘daddy’ while we’re in between the sheets. It’s going to instantly make me think about my father and at that point you are more than welcome to go finish yourself off in the bathroom.” —Danica,26
