If you think you’re too cool to use emojis in your messages, you might want to rewire that thought. Why? Because apparently, emojis can help you get laid.


According to  Match.com’s 2014 Singles in America survey, which polled more than 5,600 single citizens, 54 percent of the people who used emojis flirtatiously had sex this past year. In fact, the more emojis you use increases your chance of successfully getting laid.

According to Dr. Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist who helped interpret the survey, emojis act like a bridge that help us connect and convey the feelings that are often too difficult to communicate through texting, and even in social media. "Technology is dramatically changing how we court, but it can’t change the brain systems for romance and attachment," she writes in the press release accompanying their findings.
