We all know that a healthy diet and regular exercise are the keys to shedding man pounds, but there are times (or should we say most of the time?) we're just a little too lazy to get on with an actual weightloss program.

That said, it's good to know that there are few clever tricks to look as if you've been spending months working your ass off in the gym—simply by choosing your clothes wisely. Here's how…

1)   BIGGER CLOTHES MAKE YOU LOOK BIGGER

If you think wearing clothes that are bigger your size could help you hide those fats, you're dead wrong. Doing so can only make you appear chunkier. Wear what fits best.

2)   GO WITH V-NECK TEES

V-necks are a great way to create the illusion of a slimmer neckline, particularly if you have a double chin, as they place emphasis on your chest instead of your neck. Avoid turtlenecks as they hide your neckline and make your double chin more visible.

3)   NO LOUD PRINTS AND PATTERNS

Forget Aztec prints and Hawaiian shirts. They aren't the best option when you're trying to draw people's attention away from your worst feature. Loud prints and patterns as well as neon tops also make you look heavier.

4)   GO MONOCHROMATIC

Wearing the same color of top and bottom prevents you from breaking up your body into different segments, thus giving you a slimmer look. If you can't help but mix and match, remember to keep a lighter shade up top and darker shade for the bottom.

5)   AVOID BULKY FABRICS

It's nice to wear thick knits and sweaters during cold days, but fabrics such as these only add bulk to your body, thus making you appear bigger. To stay warm, go with cashmere as it provides warmth without giving you extra weight.

6)   WEAR PANTS AT YOUR NATURAL WAIST LINE

Your waistline is situated there for a reason. Your pants must not be worn too high or too loose, leaving your behind hanging out. Pants seated at your natural waistline compliment your body, regardless of what body type you have.

7)   DON'T WEIGH DOWN YOUR POCKETS

Keeping things like your over-stuffed wallet and smartphone in your pocket can make you look heavier. Hold them or always bring a bag with you.

8)   ALWAYS WEAR A BELT

Not to suffocate your bulging belly, but to make your loose pants fit better. If your pants fit perfectly, your upper body will look slimmer.
