Summer's the perfect excuse for wearing the loudest, most obnoxious hues, but within reason (translation: without you looking like a douche, outdated, fashion-stupid, and just plain T-A-N-G-A). So, a month away till your palm-trees-and-bermuda-grass designed boardshort becomes fashionable again, FHM gives you the guide to getting colors right.
TIP#1: COLOR-BLOCKING IS A NO-NO
Good style is all about looking like you’re not trying–as the saying goes, you should wear your clothes, they shouldn’t wear you. It’s important to appear natural and comfortable, whether in an interview or on a date. One form of color-blocking is wearing loads of one color and the look just screams, “I thought about this outfit for weeks,” which isn’t a good thing. Rather than donning a color like a uniform (see above), follow our simple rules for mixing things up to pull off effortless cool.
TIP#2: ACCESSORY MATCHING
Always match your shoes and belt. You should definitely match these when it comes to formal wear—black leather shoes with a black leather belt. Wear a brown belt with black shoes to work and expect weird glances or hushed insults of “baduy.”
