The girls may beg to differ, but as far as we’re concerned, any bikini is a good bikini. There’s just something about that summer staple that no matter the permutation of cut, color, and cloth, it just looks damn good.

This led us to thinking: What about us? Surely there’s a no-fail attire for any summer occasion and vacation that we can perennially look decent in?  Even for the, uh, facially challenged and lacking in muscle tone?

Well, we're glad to say that YES, sirs, there is! Here they are:

1 THE BEACH MANKINI
For wearing in: sun, sand, and sea
Uso factor: Bright punches of color

Loud and proud board short or rash guards serve purposes more logical than sartorial: bright colors make you easy to spot in a crowd (for eye-catching purposes) and in the water (for life-saving purposes). The festive, relaxed mood of beaches is more forgiving of your neon addiction, too.

Also check out: Bright sneaks, shades with colored rims, mega-tingkad board shorts, and multi-colored polos instead of the very dated Hawaiian print

Rash guard and board shorts from Billabong; slippers from Crocs, shades from Ray-ban (available at The Optical Shop), orange sneakers from Keds
