Are blackheads a regular problem for you? Do you have large, open pores? Does your T-zone (the area consisting of the forehead, nose and chin) always feel greasy and shiny? If you answered yes to all these questions, it means you're the proud owner of an oily face. It's a real problem for a number of guys.

Though you need some oil on your face to keep your skin from drying out, too much of it leads to unattractive "facial shine" and deters women from wanting to make beso with you. This is the case for individuals with hyperactive sebaceous glands—a problem that can be exacerbated by hormonal imbalance.

If you're a sufferer of a constantly oily face, here we've lined up seven simple remedies to help you get rid of the unwanted shine.

1)   EGG WHITES WORK

Egg whites are rich in vitamin A, which—aside from boosting eyesight—helps tighten the pores on your skin. All you need to do is to apply egg whites on your face, leave the solution for about 15 minutes then rinse it off with warm water. Do this twice a week and you'll see a difference.

2)   EXFOLIATE YOUR FACE

Oily skin can greatly benefit from exfoliation, the process of removing dead skin to expose younger skin. Do this by using a gentle scrubber (a face towel, perhaps?) to help remove oil, dirt and other debris that can clog pores. Do it only twice a week though; over-exfoliating only pushes your skin to produce more oil.

3)   EXERCISE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES PER DAY

While you exercise, your sweat glands become active. Sweating helps flush out all the dirt and unwanted oil from our skin, resulting in a fresher look.

4)   RUB ICE CUBES ON YOUR FACE

At night, rubbing an ice cube gently on your face can do wonders. The cold tightens the pores as well, and reduces the oil your skin secretes. Think of it as training your skin to produce less oil.

5)   WATCH YOUR DIET

When it comes to skin care, this mantra applies: "You are what you eat." Eat more of these: fruits, veggies, whole grains, more water. A diet that is high on those—as opposed to pork, fats, and beef—means that you'll have less actual oil to flush out of your pores.

6)   DON'T USE BODY SOAP TO WASH YOUR FACE

Body soap is typically too harsh on the face. It can cause your skin to become excessively dry and flakey. When this happens, you're signaling your body to produce more oil—which is what we're tring to avoid here. Look for a facial wash especially made for oily skin. When buying facial care products, try to look for the "non-comedogenic" label. Comedogenic substances tend to block the pores.

7)   STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE

There are men who unconsciously add extra oil on their face. How? By touching the face with their hands. The hands are the dirtiest part of the body and also has oil. When you touch your face with your hand—an unclean one, especially—you're not doing your face any favors.
