Petroleum jelly, a topical ointment used for lubrication and healing a myriad of skin diseases, is a staple in every woman's shopping list. It should be in yours too.
More than being mom's go-to skin moisturizer, your niece's rash reliever, and miraculous pampadulas, petroleum jelly is also a great grooming buddy. It doesn't look like much, but believe us, it can do gazillion things. Keep reading to learn some jelly hacks.
1) IT MAKES YOUR PERFUME STICK
Ever wondered why some people (girls!) seem to smell good all day? Well, it's because moisturized skin can hold scents longer. That said, dab a little petroleum on your pulse points (behind your ears and wrist) before spraying on perfume. Sniff away.
2) HELP HEAL SUNBURN
If you forgot to apply sunblock and are now facing the consequences of a painful burn, massage PJ on the affected area. It will moisturize your burns and help prevent peeling.
3) SAY GOODBYE TO REDDISH NOSE
Christmas came early? Ditch that Rudolf-patented nose every time you suffer from colds or allergies. Dab some petroleum jelly around your nostrils to add some moisture and lighten the redness.
4) IT'S A GREAT SHOE POLISH ALTERNATIVE
No Kiwi? Polish your leather and scuffed shoes with PJ and they will look good as new.
5) KEEP YOUR MANBROWS IN PLACE
Put on a thin layer of PJ on your manbrows and evenly distribute it all over your arches. For a sleeker look, comb them after.
6) KEEP SHAMPOO OFF YOUR PEEPERS
You don't really have to bear with the unfortunate circumstance of having shampoo run down your eyes. Simply rub a line of jelly above your brows to divert evil shampoo foam to the sides of your face.
7) NO MORE PAINFUL CUTICLES
In cases where your cuticles just suddenly peel off, apply a nut-size amount of petroleum jelly to soften the fingers and soothe cracked cuticles.
