We all know how ruthless social media can be when it comes to over-the-top or boring basketball shoes. As great players as Stephen Curry and James Harden are, the same cannot be said about their signature sneakers, the Curry 2 Low and the Harden Vol. 1 'Triple Black,' which both had the wrong kind of reception last year.

The adidas Crazy Explosive was a unique design to say the least. And its follow-up, the 17, sees the Three Stripes brand pushing the aesthetic envelope with the instantly noticeable sock-like ankle.


What some are dismissing as an another weird-looking release from adidas will actually debut the Forged Primeknit tech, which puts the prime on stability and comfort, not even factoring in the updated Boost structure.

The Crazy Explosive 17 will turn heads—albeit in a good way—once it drops towards the end of the month in 'Crystal White' and 'Solar Yellow' colorways. NBA rising stars Andrew Wiggins, Kristaps Porzingis, and Justice Winslow are christening the performance shoe, prized at $150, on the court.
