Ladies and gents, here's the new winner of the shoe-with-a-sole-we've-never-seen-before citation! Check out the new adidas Springblade running kicks below:
"What the hell are those things poking out from under the shoe?" you asks? adidas calls them blades, and they're not just for show.
These blades are made out of high-tech polymer which makes them highly elastic. The Springblade is the first and only running shoe to have this feature. When compressed, the blades—all 16 of them—store energy, which is then released, giving you a boost with each stride. adidas says it feels like you have springs beneath your feet. Awesome news for runners and sprinters then.
“Springblade’s progressive look and blade technology are radically different than any running shoe ever created,” says James Carnes, global creative director of performance at adidas. We agree, sir. Our old, inaamag running shoes look, well, like a toothless old bruha next to it. And it's not just the blades; the Springblade's solid colors and sleek frame do wonders to its overall look.
The Springblade also comes with a flexible construction that hugs the top of your foot, locking it in place to harness the energy return generated by the blades on the outsole. And it's made for different environments, too, giving you a great run even when the temperature swings from damn cold to freakin' hot.
