We don't really have to explain that Nike's collaboration with Off-White is enjoying godly amounts of hype and developing godly resell prices because of it, but we did notice something interesting with the latest shoe to join The Ten: The Off-White x Converse Chuck Taylor.
While most of the Off-White collab pairs have translucent bits and portions, the Chuck Taylors flip the proportions and are more see-through than modest. Which led to IG users snapping all sorts of (extra-visible) socks and shoe combos that look really, unexpectedly, good:
*whispers* Anyone thinking of Vans?
Yellow socks have rarely looked better
Lowkey it looks like you're barefoot for a moment but it's all Gucci
Probably the best styling of volt-colored socks outside of using it on court
Even the ubiquitous white high sock look finds new swag when viewed through a translucent hightop
It'll obviously be a hell of a time trying to cop these ultra-limited edition releases, so we're thinking forward instead: could transparent panelling be the next possible mainstream shoe trend? It might seem weird now, but remember: clear soles were once weird too! Best stock up on some rad socks for the day an accessible see-through pair drops!
