The first month of the new year is about to end, and shoe brands aren't done churning out new pairs.

Pop culture designs and signature basketball sneakers were the recurring themes this January, with a few performance and lifestyle kicks on the side. This time, running and streetwear are seeing important releases.

It's Swoosh versus Three Stripes all over again:

Nike Epic React Flyknit

Originally present in a basketball shoe (Hyperdunk), the foam cushioning makes its debut on the urban trail. The Epic React's innovative construction allows for added support, flexibility, breathability, stability, and firmness. No wonder it has been labeled as the "running shoe that can do it all."

Available: February 22 on nike.com and at select retailers

adidas Prophere 'Rogue'

Introduced just last month, the Prophere is proof that BOOST isn't all there is to adidas. The faded bleach design of the "Rouge" sums up the rugged aesthetic, while the textured midsole and rubber outsole represents streetwear grit. Indeed, the contemporary sillhuoette "push the boundaries of street style."

Available: January 26 at Sole Academy
