Ah, the perks of being Kanye West.
The music icon and style mogul has reactivated his Twitter account, doing it in a way that only he could. Aside from confirming upcoming material— a solo album, a project with Kid Cudi, etc.—and dishing out motivational nuggets, which are said to culminate in a future book, Kanye also gave fans a glimpse of what appears to be a warehouse full of never-before-seen Yeezy apparel.
What can be seen on his impromptu showroom tour are new colorways of the Yeezy Boost 350, including a "transparent" one, an early prototype of the Yeezy 451, a couple of fresh Yeezy 500s and Yeezy Boost 700 schemes, not to mention an update on those Yeezy "Rat Boots," a photo of what looks like a Yeezy basketball shoe, and Yeezy slides. Phew!
We hope Ye won't tweak these rugged Desert Rats too much, with the combat-style boot already looking clean and comfortable in neutral sillhouettes.
Our takeaway from that expensive row: pastel hues work really well with the 350. The see-through iteration feels over the top, but still looks promising.
The 500 is treading a fine line between being fashion-forward and resembling clown shoes. The less gaudy versions are just the right kind of chunky.
No wonder these splasher-looking MFs are the "roast" of the town. You might find them at the cleaning supplies section of your neighborhood supermarket.
We imagine the likes of Nick Young and JR Smith lacing these up during an actual game. If only Kanye can realize that function should come before form.
This is something straight out of a Dragon Ball Z episode.
Followers are clamoring for the two designs, even though they've only been spotted in the background. Pro-tip: You can never go wrong with light-colored dad sneakers.
