Last month, all eyes were on the kids of the 2017 NBA Summer League—the proving grounds for newly-drafted rookies, sophomore players, and undrafted free agents out to make a good impression. But apart from being able to don their respective teams’ jerseys and get show-offy with their skills, kids of the Summer League also took it as an opportunity to show off their sneaker game.
The especially noteworthy sneaker circumstance of the Summer League was freshly minted Laker and son of LaVar Ball, Lonzo Ball, who after months of pompously promoting his Big Baller Brand signature sneakers, wore three other brands throughout the Summer League. He was even called out by Lebron James for wearing Nikes, and by James Harden for wearing adidas—making him a platform of sorts, where the big athletic brands could trade jabs.

The 19-year-old did walk away with the League’s MVP Award, so it’s reasonable to expect more kicks from him in the future.
Apart from Ball and his many sneakers, most other kicks on the court were Nike’s latest signatures: Kobes, Kyries, and PGs in some great colorways; and even a few Air Jordans, surprisingly. Have a look at some of the best kicks that were worn to this year’s Summer League:
