With the regular NBA season starting just a week from now, you can expect shoe companies to come up with their new shoes and apparels. [firstpara] Adidas is early to the party as it continues its celebration of basketball as a form of brotherhood. This year’s campaign, “It’s On Me for My Brotherhood” challenges individuals to take responsibility, take charge of the team, and do whatever it is to help raise the team as a whole, and help them get the win.
Spearheading the campaign is a duo of rising stars, Orlando’s man-child Dwight Howard, and the speedy and athletic Derrick Rose. Fresh from a rather disappointing NBA Finals last season, and wearing the all-new Adidas TS Commander LT, Howard hopes to bounce back this season, along with The Big Ticket Kevin Garnett and 4-time NBA champion Tim Duncan. Compared to last year’s model, the shoes have been equipped with superior cushioning while making them 6 oz. lighter, helping players move in the pivot quicker. If you're a fan of the Magic, pray that those improvements pay when the Playoffs come around.
On the other hand, rising Bulls guard and reigning Rookie of the Year, Derrick Rose, along with fellow point guard, Chauncey Billups, will be wearing the Adidas TS Cut Creator, which uses ForMotion technology that helps decrease foot and ankle stress when making hard cuts or performing crossover moves.
Shoes though aren’t the only new things in Adidas’ arsenal this year, as they’ll also be rolling out their new Speedwrap ankle brace, which is said to reduce ankle injuries by 40 percent, and the TECHFIT compression apparel, which is designed to help sustain peak performance by focusing your muscles’ energy to achieve top power potential. TECHFIT is also the NBA’s official compression apparel, so we have a whole season ahead of us to see just how effective this Adidas technology is.
