Remember that scene in the sci-fi hit Back To The Future 2, where the series bida Marty McFly put on a pair of futuristic Nike shoes that automatically tightened themselves up when worn?
No? Well, this should remind you:
"Power laces, alright!"
Dubbed the Nike Air Mag, Marty put these high-tech kicks on in the year 2015--in the movie, at least.
But that now may actually become reality as Tinker Hatfield, the man who designed the Air Jordans from models 3 to 15, hints at the self-lacing technology's possible arrival in the near future. A report by kicks site, Solecollector.com gave us the scoop last February 14, 2014:
"During an appearance at the Jordan Brand's Flight Lab space in New Orleans earlier today, designer Tinker Hatfield was asked about the possibility of seeing power lacing next year, and his answer may surprise you.
'Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!' said Hatfield."
