It looks like the leaks earlier this year were on point! The official shots of the adidas Dragon Ball shoes confirm the rumoured appearance of the first two releases: Goku's ZX500 and Frieza's Yung 1. This is the first ever shoe collaboration based on Akira Toriyama's legendary series and it looks like fans—both the anime and the sneaker kind—won't be disappointed. First up, the "Goku."
It's a ZX500 colored in his signature orange-and-blue, a scheme that might be hard to pull off with IRL clothing but looks everyday wearable when applied to a sneaker. Key details include distressed stripes, no doubt a homage to Goku constantly getting his shirt torn off, and Flying Nimbus motifs on the inside.
Heading things up for the antagonist side is the "Frieza."
Based on the new Yung 1 silhouette, it takes on the white and purple tones of the intergalactic warlord. The pink patch on the side is a nice touch that refers to Frieza's later less-naked appearances. We expect the rest of the pairs, based on the other major characters like Cell and Vegeta, of the seven-piece collection to show up soon. You probably won't get a wish by collecting them all like the Dragon Balls but your hype level will be over 9000!
