Grabbing today's headlines with Kylie Jenner giving birth and the Philadelphia Eagles winning the 52nd Super Bowl (SB) was Justin Timberlake performing during halftime of the said football championship.
The 37-year-old pop singer, whose SB intermission with Janet Jackson 14 years ago made the news for all the wrong reasons, was back rendering a short but sentimental tribute to the late showman, Prince.
Fans were conflicted about Justin's eulogy, given a previous back-and-forth between the two, not to mention Prince's aversion to sharing the stage with a hologram of a departed artist, even calling it "the most demonic thing imaginable."
And when it came to the much-awaited SB LII halftime show, despite JT not using an actual hologram, netizens still had mixed views on his performance:
Friends stick together, right?
Leave Justin alone!
To be fair, his talent was undeniable
Also, this was nothing short of magnificent
Can't give praise without throwing shade, eh?
The sarcasm is over 9000!
Essentially, he still 'jammed' with Prince
What really happened with the selfie kid
Getting NSYNC would've saved the day
You be the judge:
Was it better than Prince's Super Bowl XLI "Purple Rain" performance?
