Five years ago, Lovi Poe posed with a mighty elephant for her FHM September 2011 Cover debut. It was an iconic cover, not only because the crew had flown to Thailand to give Lovi the royal treatment she deserved, but also because the outcome was an unforgettable image—thanks in large part to the actress' peanut-loving cover buddy!
And as fate would have it, in this month's issue, Lovi again shares the spotlight. This time around, she's slithered back into our pages and she's brought along some snake friends.
Animals are no strangers to the magazine world and photo shoots. The reason being: they're able to make an image fiercer and wilder with just their mere presence. When executed properly, they lend a ferociousness to the cover star, bringing out the woman's innate animalistic side.
FHM gathered 5 arresting magazine covers from both here and abroad that feature our furry (or feathered) friends.
1) Solenn Heussaff, FHM Philippines March 2011
For Solenn's first FHM cover, she requested that she be shot with horses in order to conquer her fear of stags and mares. Polished to perfection, the flawless Sos went for it, and the result is a classic FHM Bikini Issue that sealed the celebrity's status as one of the brand's favorite women to work with.
2) Ellen Adarna, FHM Philippines January 2012
We allowed Ellen Adarna to release her inner beast for her sophomore cover. With Ellen, you know she's got the bite to back up her bark.
3) Miley Cyrus, Paper Magazine Summer 2015
Miley Cyrus’ pet pig, Bubba Sue, squeaked its way to stardom for this creative Paper Mag cover. Did you expect anything less from the eccentric Miley?
4) Lady Gaga, Harper’s Bazaar September 2014
Lady Gaga graced the Harper’s Bazaar cover page with no less than her French bulldog, Asia. That Frenchie is cute, but the cleavage on Gaga is, well, making us gaga!
5) Kate Upton, CR Fashion Book Magazine #1
Kate Upton was photographed in black and white while wearing a low-neck top for a cover image that is truly heaven-sent. Looking au naturel, she graced the first cover of Carine Roitfeld's (formerly of Vogue Paris) magazine CR Fashion Book. The "rebirth"-themed issue shows Upton posing with cute chicks, and yes, her ample cleavage, embodying the very essence of fertility.
