When actress Alma Moreno filed her certificate of candidacy for senator on the third day of filing, many were left dumbfounded by her move.

FYI, Loveliness' (or Ness, her nickname in the '80s) political credentials include being a ParaΓ±aque City councilor in 2007 and 2010, aside from an unsuccessful 2004 mayoral bid. So her big leap was, safe to say, quite mind-boggling unexpected. This despite Moreno initially expressing an intention to run for the same position in 2012, if not for a lingering illness.

Perhaps to convince the public that she is very much sincere and qualified for one of the country's top local posts, Moreno, who is under Vice President Jejomar Binay's 2016 Senate lineup, appeared onΒ ANC's Headstart last November 11, hosted by journalist Karen Davila, for a live interview.

However, instead of winning the people and their votes, the discussion seem to have ended the other way around, primarily due to her questionable takes on some of the country's most pressing issues.
