“The wait was worth it,” has never felt so real. After years of prodding to make this stint happen, the Eigen-girl finally said yes. And she committed to it like a pro. “…it’s always worth it to take risks. Appearing in FHM is one of the risks I want to take… I look at this as a kind of pre-celebration of my 10th year in showbiz,” says the 25-year-old.

Well, Andi, this sure is something to celebrate.

Working with her felt like having your best female travel buddy (who you secretly have a crush on) around. She was laidback, grounded, and a tad shy when people would come up to her for selfies. At one point during the pre-production meeting with the FHM team, Andi said in jest: “Game ako mag-bikini, mag-cliff dive, o kung ano pa. Isipin ninyo na lang na hindi ako artista, ha ha!” True to her word, this cover shoot was done all in a day’s work in the sunny island of Boracay—in bikinis, lounging at the ledge of an overlooking resort, nonetheless. The girl knows how to have fun in the summer.

Apart from befriending the whole team, Andi seemed relaxed during the shoot, most probably because she feels at home in the beach. After all, she’s also a travel blogger (look it up: And also because: “Now I know myself better, I know what I want for myself,” she shares. And that includes this stint in our cover, she adds.

But her summer, and her pursuit of the things she wants, is far from over. Andi will soon head to Europe, not only to explore more cities, but also to compete at the 69th Cannes Film Festival for Ma’ Rosa, an independent film with her mother Jaclyn Jose, and directed by the multi-awarded filmmaker Brillante Mendoza. Here's hoping she'll bring more joy to the country than her FHM covers already have.
