Just like his predecessor, President Rodrigo Duterte has chosen Bahay Pangarap as his official residence for his six-year term as the country's top leader.

Presidential Management Staff chief Bong Go told the Inquirer that the pre-war structure which was originally intended as a rest house was a perfect match for the President's personality. "He actually prefers a smaller and much simpler place. The President is a very simple person," said Go.

This makes Duterte only the second top official, following former president Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III to have selected Bahay Pangarap as his new home.

Bahay Pangarap is located at the Malacañang Park grounds and is a bungalow type structure with mostly white themes complemented by wooden accents. It has three bedrooms, a master bedroom, a reception area and a dining hall inside where some Cabinet meetings were previously held by the Aquino administration. Adjoining one of its entrances is a garden with add-on fixtures like chairs and tables boasting contemporary Filipino design. Beside the garden is a swimming pool that gives the house a resort-like vibe.
