How ecstatic are we that the Beastie Boys, iconic American hip hop trio from New Yorkare returning after a four-year hiatus? We say plenty!
The trio has long been inaudibly missing since 2007’s The Mix-Up, but the Beastie Boys are making up for it by releasing a 30-minute video-slash-short film for “Make Some Noise,” their latest single off their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two due out next month.
Oddly, Hot Sauce Committee Part One will be released sometime later this year (it was supposed to come out in late 2009 but was hampered with news of Adam “AMC” Yauch being diagnosed with cancer). But hey, emcees have returned and all’s been good ever since.
The video for “Make Some Noise” features the group in the events that followed after the "Fight for Your Right” video, and also happens to be a spectacle of comic cameos led by Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, and Elijah Wood, who play Mike D, AMC, and Ad-Rock.
Chunky boys Jack Black, Will Ferrell, and John C. Reilly also play their future counterparts looking for a futuristic dance showdown, capping off an all-star cast straight out of Parks and Recreation and The Office. The Beastie Boys didn’t actually appear in it (save for the video's end), but we guess they’re cool that way.
