Today we found out that there are worst things in the world than a regular Monday: a rainy Tuesday following a three-day weekend!
How hard was it for you to get off that bed? As hard as getting the work motor up and running again, we suspect. But fear not our fellow work-slaves! We have prepared a slew of weekend headlines guaranteed to distract you for, well, at least five minutes if you're a particularly quick reader.
1) BAD NEWS: Heart Evangelista Is Now Officially Off The Market
Technically, Heart has been off the market for a good amount of time now. But on Saturday, August 23, during a vacation in Sorsogon with friends Lovi Poe and Alessandra de Rossi, longtime lover Senator Chiz Escudero made Heart even more off-the-market.
Chiz pulled the classic on-my-knee-diamond-ring-and-fireworks schtick; Heart said yes, and promptly made everyone go, "Aaww." Except for us, FHM staffers, who will now proceed to take down the "Heart Evangelista For FHM" altar we've prayed to in the past several years.
CONSOLATION PRIZE: Daniel Matsunaga, Heart's last boyfriend before Sen. Chiz, had every right to get sad over the news of Heart's engagement. Then again, the news coincided with his victory in Pinoy Big Brother All-In as the show's big winner, meaning he gets to take home a cool P1 million and a condo worth P2 million.
Matsunaga also earned the ire of "Boy Pakyu," who is now the country's most infamous f*ck-giver since that girl from the Kiefer Ravena incident. The last laugh belongs to the one with the P1 million though.

2) GOOD NEWS (?): Manny Paccquiao Is Now Officially A PBA Player
We've known for months that Manny Pacquiao was going to the Kia Sorentos, come hell or Blackwater. (Get it? Blackwater? They're also kind of a new team in the league.) But seeing the actual PBA Draft results on our monitors proved to be hair-raising. It's really happening.
While Globalport's Stanley Pringle, Rain Or Shine's Kevin Alas and Alaska's Chris Banchero have gotten us giddy with their talents, the Pambansang Kamao's quest to become Pambansang Playing Coach is by far the most intriguing.
3) GOOD NEWS: Gilas Pilipinas Break Their Five-Game Losing Streak
After fruitless forays against France, Australia, Ukraine, Euskadi, and Angola, Gilas finally found a way to win one.
Yesterday, August 25, our national squad beat the runner-up in the 2013 FIBA Africa tourney, Egypt, 74-65. Sharpshooting Jeff Chan led the team with 20 points, while naturalized player Andray Blatche contributed 14.
