Purveyors of all sorts of awesome beach wear, Billabong, have found a new buddy in local shores as it forges a partnership with local retail chain, Aloha Boardsports.

Starting this December, Aloha Boardsports will be carrying the popular Australian brand in its branches in Rockwell, Alabang Town Center, Trinoma, Megamall, Mall of Asia and the Five-O Skate Shop in Taguig.

Billabong is more than a perfect fit for Aloha. The company has always been one of the most active proponents and most ardent supporters of the local skate and surf culture.

Billabong will be joining the ranks of Adidas, Nike SB, Girl Skateboards, Volcom, Independent, Spitfire and a lot more skateboarding and surfing lifestyle brands in Aloha’s growing list of products.

And Peter Thew, the Brand Manager of Billabong Asia, is thrilled at this new partnership, saying “Billabong is excited at the prospect of working with Aloha Boardsports. There's a thriving boardsport culture in the Philippines, and we're happy to increase our presence further there”.

The brand is definitely not a stranger anymore in this part of the world, but their presence in Aloha Boardsports promises to make the brand even bigger.

Mooney Castillo, the Senior VP at Aloha Boardsports is understandably excited as well, saying “It’s a big break for our brand, which presents a bigger challenge to constantly outdo ourselves in being edgy and exciting. They chose Aloha Boardsports because they saw our genuine love for action sports, and our dedication and ability to nurture this lifestyle.”

And along with this new partnership with Billabong, Aloha Boardsports promises an action-packed 2011 for skate and surf addicts, with its exciting lineup of events, more store promos, and the launching of new stores in other key cities.

So while the New Year is still a couple weeks away, 2011 is indeed, already looking like it’s going to be the year of the surfer!
